Wind Spiral
I'm looking for unique wire shapes that can be used for the tops of small/indoor beaded wind chimes.Any ideas?
I'm thinking spirals of wire connected together somehow...something more than just a plain circle. Any ideas would be wonderful!
Think out of the box. All the chime holder does is provide a platform or holder to which the individual chime anchor string/wire is tied, be that support a disk or a ring or a something. The chime strings do not need to be tied to the holder all at the same level, however that works best due to the strings being able to swing freely in any direction. If the strings hang from a spiral, then some of the strings will be restricted in their movement because those strings will be touching part of the spiral below the string's attachment point.
The sound quality of the chimes is not effected by the string anyway since the string is attached to the chime at the null location. And the chime does not really have to move because its sound is produced by the striker hitting the chime. So hang the individual chimes as you like, from a spiral, an icecream cone, or a cake rack. Just as long as the chime will be struck by something to cause it to chime. So spacing of the chimes is rather important if the chimes are to ring.
How about placing multiple strikers on the outside of the chimes instead of having only one striker in the center of a ring (or a square for that matter) of chimes?
