Bright red LED light in New Year sky?
On New Years Eve 2009 I saw a bright red LED looking pinlight about 30 degrees to the left of the constellation Orion. It was around 11:45pm Dec 31 2009. It looked like a bright red star, not moving, not twinkling, just on. It wasn't a satellite because it didn't move, it wasn't a helicopter or plane because there wasn't any sounds and it was way too high. It wasn't a firework and it definitely wasn't mars or any other planet because it was much too bright. It stayed there for like ten minutes then just disappeared. I know I wasn't seeing things because it was very bright and very cool. Can anyone tell me what that was?
It could bery well have been 2 things. #1, this was New Year's Eve and people tend to drink alcohol on New Year's Eve. #2. It could have been someone messing around hoping that someone like your self would see that.
